Galaxy Cinema Website Revamp & SEO

Galaxy Cinema is one of the biggest cinema chains in Vietnam. In 2014, with the ambition to expand their market throughout Vietnam not only HCMC but there was one problem they were facing that their brand was weak in other cities outside of HCMC. They’ve realized that the internet was the short-cut to bring their brand to new customers and build up a large community in a short time.


  1. Their website had few basic functions as other movie booking sites including showing time, now showing movies with a few descriptions and ticket prices.
  2. They didn’t have an integrated marketing strategy: online marketing channels were being run solely to promote a couple of now showing movies.


I came up with a website revamp plan which transformed into a comprehensive movie database which users can research all information about any movies, actors/actresses, directors… or read insightful movie reviews.

Moreover, website usability was the main focus of this revamp. Because we knew that at the time they are reading movie reviews or casts… their purchase intent is highest, we made it easier for customers to buy tickets without leaving their current reading.

The new site is now playing an important role as a content hub for their content marketing strategy which integrates all marketing channels including display ad, search ad, SEO and social media… Display ad is the first channel to make their new movies go viral. Search and SEO will capture all people who are searching for the movies, actors, actresses… and social media will be a place where people can talk about the relevant contents. All channels work smoothly together due to the comprehensive movie database where all movie related contents are linked perfectly.
